A contemporary light installation entitled ‘Linden’, inspired by centennial trees.
PURPOSE
To embody the legacy of ‘Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022’, which spurred changes in the city and intensified the cultural rhythm, by gifting the city a new, sustainable, and long-lasting highlight. This contemporary light installation was inspired by the linden tree – a symbol of longevity, vitality, and cosiness, inseparable from Laisvės Alėja.
SOLUTION
Together with Lithuanian artist Kotryna Čalkaitė, we created a permanent light installation on the wall of a newly built apartment building on Laisvės Alėja, seamlessly blending into the surrounding architecture. The artwork was inspired by the Kaunas 2022 theme and logo, designed by artists Rokas Sutkaitis and Julius Seniūnas.
